The Program Coordinator works in conjunction with the Program Director to implement the vision and mission of Marin Ventures. The Program Coordinator ensures that individuals receive high-quality, person-centered support that promotes independence, personal growth, and community participation. They are responsible for implementing program plans and services for participants, and managing and supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). The Program Coordinator collaborates closely with participants, their support team members, program management staff, and direct care staff to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.  

Marin Ventures is a community engagement day program for adults with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to foster independence and personal growth, and to promote the opportunity for community integration. We provide health and fitness activities, creative arts, computer and communication instruction, and independent living and employment skills training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding services for adults with developmental disabilities including reporting suspected abuse or neglect.
  • Models best practices for staff in interacting with, supporting, and engaging participants.
  • Implementation of program plans and services. Provides leadership and demonstrates team-building skills.
  • Develops and monitors daily activity schedule including special events and program vehicle use; coaches DSPs in developing lesson plans and daily schedules. 
  • Works with Program Director to develop staff training and development plans.
  • Manages participant cases as assigned, including ISP development, case file review and updating, report writing, developing specific goals related to remote services and meeting attendance. Ensures that all documentation required by funding agencies is maintained.
  • Determines participant goals through person-centered planning team process, re-sets objectives, and ensures that participants meet target goals.
  • Evaluates participants' needs and exercises independent judgment regarding participant programs. 
  • Supervises DSPs and substitutes on floor as needed. Monitors job performance, completes performance evaluations and makes recommendations regarding employee discipline.
  • Participates in staff recruitment. Interviews and evaluates employee candidates. Makes hiring recommendations to Program Director.
  • Creates and implements remote activities and classes using remote technology, and supports and supervises DSPs in creating and implementing remote activities and classes.
  • Trains DSPs on infection control, Covid-19 protocols, and any other emerging emergency infection control protocols. As well as ensures protocols are being followed by DSPs.

COMPETENCIES

  • Current CPR/FA/AED certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a community or day program setting is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written English communication skills.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in materials, establishing priorities, multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be proactive, self-directing and project oriented.
  • Must have current valid CA driver’s license and clean DMV record. Ability to drive agency vehicles as regular local travel may be required

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

  • $28 - $30 per hour
  • Hours - 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday, No nights, no weekends.
